Focal Point: The first wall you see upon entering a room, or the wall facing the room's dominant flow of traffic. A focal point is a center of interest or point of emphasis in a well-designed room. An element that draws your eye to it.

Rhythm: is the repetition or alternation of elements, often with defined intervals between them. Rhythm can create a sense of movement, and can establish pattern and texture.

Balance: It is the arrangement of the objects in a given design as it relates to their visual weight within a composition.

Proportion: Is the comparison of dimensions or distribution of forms. It is the relationship in scale between one element and another, or between a whole object and one of its parts.

3. You can have a fabulous floor plan and great paint colors but poor lighting and none of your design elements shows up! Lighting gives the home drama and accentuates the positives!
