I'm excited to be working with a couple from San Jose California on their dream home. It's located on the Tualitin river. Upon entering the great room your eyes are drawn to the beautiful rushing river view! The couple purchased the property based upon the unbelievable park like setting of the outdoor space. It hosts a flagstone patio, outdoor kitchen, loggia and wrap around wood deck.The interior needed some TLC. Below is my purposed design for the great room.
The only down side to the move was the interior. It was stuck in the 80's. The brick half wall and wood stove pictured below did nothing for the expansive ceilings and majestic setting. I purposed a stacked natural stone for the entire height of the wall.With the addition of a oil rubbed bronze hanging light fixture over the dining table The look is complete. We installed a double sided "see through fireplace". The stone raised hearth and dark stained kaya wood mantel and new light hardwood floors all seem like they were meant to be.
